Jill Biden, a surprise to Michelle Obama as a sign of friendship

Jill Biden, una sorpresa a Michelle Obama in segno di amicizia

The new First Lady gave her a basket of vegetables from the garden that Michelle had created in 2009

Michelle Obama has long since left the White House, but the new First Lady Jill Biden has decided to brush up her memory, sending her a sweet thought straight from the kitchen (and garden) of Washington D.C.

A beautiful gift that Barack Obama's wife appreciated and then shared on Instagram: in a shot published a few days ago, Michelle showed her followers a basket full of vegetables (cabbage, broccoli, red cabbage) coming from the garden that the former First Lady had created in 2009 in the White House.

Enraptured by the gesture, Michelle thanked Jill Biden from the heart:

I am so thankful for this beautiful colorful package from our fantastic Flotus. These fresh vegetables from the White House garden were a wonderful and delicious surprise. I love you, Jill!

An important friendship that has been cultivated over time – such as the White House garden – between two women who have held important political positions, but who have not forgotten the importance of small gestures. So many appreciated the First Lady's gift to Michelle Obama. One fan wrote, "It's so good to see the vitality and love of the White House again," while another said, "While many things haven't survived the White House in the past four years, I'm glad your garden is still flourishing ". The garden, born in 2009, is located in South Lawn and treats fruit, vegetables and herbs as reported by the National Parks Service. In addition, the First Lady told People Magazine that the garden is still going strong after more than ten years of life and invited Michelle to drop by from time to time to admire the good work she has done.

Michelle Obama and Jill Biden (whose official Instagram account now that she has entered the White House is Flotus, that is the one reserved for the First Lady of the United States) are old friends: they got very close during the presidency of Barack Obama and Michelle called her her "favorite person", noting how important her support was over those eight years. Some time ago, he defined her as "a brilliant, kind, very funny person" and then added: "I admire him with all my heart".

That sentiment is obviously reciprocated: even Jill Biden, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, said she immediately felt a genuine bond with Michelle.
