Lidl in Austria is currently recalling a popular ice cream. The reason for this measure: There could be various foreign bodies in the product. We strongly advise against consuming the product.
The Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) reports on its website about a recall from Lidl Austria. This company therefore initiated a recall of the product “Bon Gelati Fürst Pückler Art” in the 2.5 liter pack on November 16, 2023.
Foreign bodies made of metal and plastic
According to the information, the manufacturer “Bon Gelati Übach-Palenberg GmbH & Co. KG” is currently offering the product “Bon Gelati Fürst Pückler Art, 2.5 l (vanilla, strawberry, chocolate)” with the best-before dates of September 25th, 2025 and September 26th, 2025 and the batch numbers L3 279 A01 and L3 280 A01.
It cannot be ruled out that the affected ice cream contains foreign bodies made of metal and plastic.
According to the notification, the affected product “Bon Gelati Fürst Pückler Art, 2.5 l (vanilla, strawberry, chocolate)” was sold at Lidl Austria. This company has withdrawn the product concerned from sale.
The product can be returned to all Lidl branches. The purchase price will be refunded, even without presentation of the receipt.
Under no circumstances consume
Due to the possible risk of injury if consumed, customers should definitely pay attention to the recall and under no circumstances consume the affected product.
Foreign bodies such as metal parts in food can lead to various injuries and complaints, for example injuries to the mouth and throat. Internal injuries cannot be ruled out either.
In addition, swallowed parts – if they are large enough – can block the esophagus or the digestive organs. And when smaller parts remain in the body, they can sometimes cause inflammation. (ad)
